The Abominable Stringband Volume 1

Acoustic Nomads was always envisioned as a collective, more than the sum of its members. In "The Abominable Stringband Vol. 1" this vision is fully realized.

For one frenzied week, we lived together in a studio called "Great North Sound Society in Parsonsfield, Maine. There we recorded 19 brand new songs, all written or arranged by our musicians.

"The Abominable Stringband Volume 1" is the first album to coalesce from this session, with Volume 2 due in the Spring of 2022.

We are very proud of the playing, the writing, and the musical cohesion we achieved with this record, and we hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we did making it!

Acoustic Nomads would like to thank The Iguana Fund of Club Passim for the grant that served as the seed money for this album.  Without your support, we could not have made this art.

Special thanks to our friends, our families, our loved ones, and our communities for supporting us through these difficult years, and to our musicians for being so courageous, open, and trusting. Music cannot exist without patience and vulnerability, and you delivered more than we ever expected.

Lastly, we are eternally grateful to you, dear listener, for taking a chance on new music. It is small acts of courage and generosity like yours that will allow all 7 billion of us on Earth, bit by bit, to emerge into a new world entirely of our choosing.
